Bought this for the ride home for a very stressed out 'rescue' dog who'd been on a transport for some 25 hours coming from Alabama to MD through terrible storms and then had another 90 min ride to my house. So, this little stuffed puppy with the beating heart really did comfort him, calmed him down and he laid his upper body on top of it. Archie is not really a chewer so I'm not sure about it's durability but it looks very nice, soft covering and just so easy to use. And, just to close - we all know it's a two way street w/ rescue dogs. You rescue them and they rescue you! Woof!I thought this would great to keep my little guy company. I was very excited at the idea and when I put the batteries in and the vibrating “heart beat” began, I was so happy to place it beside my relaxing furbaby. He literally jumped up and scurried behind me shaking. I thought Ok, new concept I’ll try again later. So I put my baby on the sofa - and placed the toy next to him. My dog, who is fearless in most things in life, leaped off the sofa and ran into his crate shaking. I put the toy in the pkg to return. My boy was so upset at the experience that he continued shaking for quite a while, would not come out of his crate (combination of fear and pouting), for the longest time. He was not himself after he came out of the crate and was stand offish with me the rest of the day and evening.I think the heartbeat pup is a great idea - IF it doesn’t terrify your dog. My suggestion would be to have a control for the intensity of the “heartbeat.” Maybe if it had not been so much vibration with the heart beat my dog might have liked it. Then again who knows?I got a full refund from Amazon but remember , I sent it back after the 2nd day of trying it, So It was still in very new condition upon return. She tore the ear off the first day and was trying to get to the heart to rip it out. Had stuffing everywhere. It lasted less than 24 hours.Suki loves her rhino... She takes it with her everywhere.Puppy loves it . I feel the device for the heart beat is difficult to turn on. The device does not appear to be sturdy. My puppy loved it for about for weeks...With the heartbeat- It did comfort him. He slept with it in his crate. But over time the floppy ears had been chewed up. I sewed up the space where the ears were. He still likes it but no floppy ears to chew. ? Now a toy to be played with.I recommend to use it from 10 week old puppies to 4 month puppy (depending on the size of your fur baby)Ok
